According to Forbes, an associate board is “a body of individuals who support a nonprofit's official board and leadership.” Being on an associate board is a great way for young professionals to gain the experience needed to make long-term philanthropic impacts in your community.
The UPchieve Associate Board: A Unique Opportunity to Scale UPchieve’s Impact
The UPchieve Associate Board is a self-governing group of young professionals and emerging leaders from across the nation that come from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and talents. We volunteer our time, networks, and resources to support the work and mission of the organization. The Associate Board seeks candidates who support UPchieve’s mission and believe the organization’s initiatives are aligned with its own values and personal or professional goals.
Mission statement
The Associate Board is committed to helping UPchieve deliver on its mission by amplifying the organization’s reach and relevance. We strive to achieve this by upholding four fundamental guiding principles:
Engagement: Displaying our commitment to UPchieve through active attendance and participation at Associate Board meetings, events, and any relevant engagements
Advocacy: Serving as ambassadors who consistently promote UPchieve’s mission through outreach, recruitment, marketing, and general awareness of the organization
Fundraising: Supporting the financial sustainability of UPchieve by consistently raising funds through an annual $1k give/get commitment met by individual and institutional donations, while also cultivating the growth of UPchieve’s donor network
Initiative: Leveraging our time, skill sets, and energy to proactively execute in areas that directly contribute to UPchieve’s development
As members of the Associate Board, it is our responsibility to further UPchieve’s mission by delivering on these principles to the best of our abilities.
