NEW YORK CITY, November 19, 2018 -- UPchieve is thrilled to announce its acceptance into Blue Ridge Labs’ 2018 Catalyst Program! Blue Ridge Labs specializes in creating and supporting early-stage social tech ventures, both for-profit and nonprofit. Alumni of the Catalyst Program have been featured in the NYTimes, Forbes, and more. Notable alumni include Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Community Lawyer, Nesterly, JustFix.nyc, Upsolve, and so many more amazing groups that are having a positive impact in the communities that need them the most. UPchieve is among the four teams selected this year out of a competitive applicant pool of over 80 organizations. The teams joining UPchieve in this year’s Catalyst cohort are ESL Works, Leap Fund, and Wiggle Room.
Through the Catalyst Program, UPchieve will receive:
A $50,000 grant and a dedicated research budget.
Hands-on coaching to help build, test, and launch a scalable tech platform.
Executive coaching and introductions to external talent, advisors, and potential partners.
Office space in a co-working community and access to a wider ecosystem of social impact organizations.
Blue Ridge Labs is a program of Robin Hood — New York’s largest poverty-fighting organization. The Labs program was launched from inside Blue Ridge Foundation New York to build upon its 15-year legacy of transforming ideas into organizations. In 2015, it became a part of Robin Hood to expand its reach and impact.
The Catalyst program officially kicked off in the second week of November. So far, we’ve already had introductory sessions on user testing, team building, and product roadmapping. UPchieve is so excited to be a part of such a vibrant community of social impact ventures!
